We, The Unfamiliar is a work of five handcrafted paper assemblages and a poem. Five emblematic buildings of Greek institutional life — the Hellenic Parliament, the Bank of Greece, the National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and the Ministry of Citizen Protection — are taken apart into paper templates and returned to their original two-dimensional form.

The viewer completes the work. By cutting, folding and reassembling, they take part in a performative act of renegotiation with collective memory, history and social unity.

The work was first presented in June 2024 at the performance festival Passages (Bageion Hotel, Omonia Square, Athens), where the audience built the pieces alongside the artist and so became co-creators of the work.
